About Patrick
Hi! My name is Patrick and I have lived in Trondheim since 2016.
I am originally from Switzerland and have a degree in technical cybernetics. So not exactly a job background in collecting and plants.
Yet, I am extremely enthusiastic about all the free food around us. That is why I have studied to be both a Mushroom and foraging expert and have been collecting and teaching for several years. I collect in my free time almost all year round. Either for own use and cooking or for Trøndelag Sankeri.
In addition to collecting, I also get great pleasure from passing on my knowledge and inspiring people to go out and collect themselves. I do this either through private events for groups and organizations or through courses and events for the Trondheim Sopp og Nyttevekstforening.
I have a broad level of knowledge about identification, collection and use of edible seaweed and kelp, plants and mushrooms. In addition, I am very fond of good food, both when it comes to cooking and eating 😉
So we can look forward to a pleasant weekend with both theory and practice on gathering, cooking and processing foraged ingredients with a holistic approach.
You will learn to identify the edible species and those you should not mix them up with, how to harvest sustainably, how to store and further process the catch and how to use the ingredients in uncomplicated dishes.
