If you have access to a fjord or sea, you have access to an incredible food source! Join an intensive and inspiring weekend course in beautiful Stadsbygd (Indre Fosen), where you will learn everything you need to incorporate seaweed, kelp, and other marine animals into your diet!

This in-depth course is designed to teach you about the different types of seaweed and kelp, and how to harvest, store, and use them culinarily.

Course Objectives:

Theory about seaweed and kelp

  • Learn about different species of kelp and seaweed and their habitats - you will get written theory to take home.

Hands-on coastal foraging

  • See, feel, and taste different species we find along the shore!

Cooking with marine forage

  • Once we have foraged a variety of species, we will move on to a remote farm in the hills where you will learn how to create simple dishes (suitable for both everyday and slightly finer occasions) - all the recipes will be provided for you to take home.

Process kelp and seaweed

  • You will learn how to refine seaweed (a delicate resource) to use it year-round. There will be finished products you can bring home with you.

Course info:
